How long is a service at First Parish?

A typical Sunday service at First Parish is 60-75 minutes in length. Some Sundays we have special events and our services run 90 minutes. We understand that people have things to do and places to be. If you want to attend worship but need to leave before we finish – you are more than welcome.

Services at First Parish begin with announcements and then we move into a time of prayer and sharing. Many weeks feature a reflection by lay people as well as a sermon. We always have beautiful, eclectic and engaging music. Listen or join in...either way you'll be glad you did.

What’s the culture like at First Parish?

Sunday’s at First Parish are filled with the spirit. We know how to celebrate and weep together, it’s not unusual for people to laugh and cry in the same service. And we welcome people as they are – some come dressed in their Sunday best, others come casual, and relaxed, and still others come dressed to go to their sporting event later in the day. It makes no difference to us – we just want as many people as possible to experience God's spirit moving in this place.

What about my kids?

We want to kids to know that they are God’s beloved children and a critical part of the church community. On most Sundays during the program-year, we offer church school for kids in Kindergarten through Grade 7. We also offer nursery care for the little ones. Every Sunday kids are welcome in worship. We always have activity bags available to use during worship and highly encourage youth to help lead worship throughout the year. We believe whole-heartedly that children enrich worship, community and all that we do together.
